Countering Islamophobia Project

The Project allows community members to learn about success stories and how to hold racists accountable. To amplify the impact of the Project, BOIV will support organisations to run one event (including limited financial support for catering) that aims to:

  1. Help understand anti – Muslim hate.

  2. Build confidence in asserting rights and taking action as a victim or witness of Islamophobia.

  3. Learn how to collect anbd present evidence effectively to achieve outcomes.

  4. Help victims and bystanders to avoid thinking traps and hold racists accountable with actionable strategies.

  5. Raise awareness of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia which is recognised by the United Nations on 15 March of every year. It was recognised by the Victorian Government on 17 March 2025.
